I don't really think this is a spoiler of any kind... if you haven't read the book yet (tsk, tsk) there isn't anything you can glean from this 'sides a beat-up house and somebody screaming.
If you -have- read the book, then you know which beat-up house an' who's screaming. Fascinating.

Hopefully some can recognize this as Sirius/Remus from the Harry Potter series. They're my favorite pairing, and the few tidbits in OotP that insinuated them being a couple made me so happy I almost pissed myself. Almost.
All the... memorial art... was making me depressed. And I forced myself to draw again. So this was the result. The epitome of the happiness OotP gave me... instead of the misery.
Anyway, about the actual drawing... I'm not the neatest artist, so this is a bit rough around the edges. It's smudgy, un-inked, and unfinished in areas that pissed me off, etc.
-The bottom quote is Remus, bemused... Sirius is probably just making a Marge-like grumble.
-Why is Sirius wet an' in a towel as if just out of the shower, and Remus not? (I mean, wouldn't Remus have joined him?) I really don't know. Just... think up your own scenario.
-I'm dead awful when it comes to hair. I just scribble some mess (sometimes in the right direction) and leave it be.
-I like drawing paw hands... I really don't know why. Fingers bother me.
-Never drawn shirtless men before... so my concept of anatomy isn't too great. (So please don't hurt me for giving poor Sirius only 6 ribs.)
-Oh, I should explain the bite marks on Remus; when I read the end of PoA I got a mental image of him gnawing on his arms while a werewolf, alone, howling in pain. (I'm so cheery.) So... I drew my Remus with a few scars from that. [nods]
I'm not too happy with the overall composition, but it's what I went with an' no going back 'less I redo a good portion of it. I'm lazy, I know.
Whoops, this turned out to be long. Heh. Kudos to anyone who actually reads it.

I knew who the pair was as soon as I spotted this on the main site. This truly is an AMAZING peice of artwork! I love it! Sirius has always been my favourite, along with Remus. I also sensed the Sirius/Remus vibes throughout the book. Tis a shame Sirius is "dead"
*dies laughing* Remus is so awesome, I love him. But seriously, as soon as I saw the earlier picture at Diagon alley, I knew who they were. My sentiments are still the same, though. I love this! *glompdroolcling* Remus and Sirius are oh-so-sexy and good, yish. Their hands are even sexy, I'm digging the paw hand style. And the bite marks on Remus are perfect! I love this peice to no end. *attempts to clean up her drool before she leaves*
Oh...the finished piece is delicious! I worship/envy you. So...like, I mentioned nekkidness and groping the other day....Any chance you'd draw anything like that? Can't hurt to ask right?
To say it's well done would be an understatement. Bravo!!
I found this here before I saw the final piece on Deviant Art (I said this there too!). Whaddaya mean saying, "I can't draw hair"! Rumpled hair is just mooshy scribbles. I particularly like the wall sconce detailing. This kind of pencil work shows inflection and emotions that can get lost in an inked piece.
BTW... stop putting yourself down about this piece. This may not be exactly the image you saw in your mind, bit it is quite good the way it is. You must have learned by now that figures in illustrations, like their counterparts in literature, somehow, quite often have minds of their own! Besides, those two never behaved the way they were "supposed to"!

This is cute. Sirius/Remus is my favorite pairing too! They look so sexy... hehe. I love the expression on Remus' face. And the quote. Sirius looks remarkably well-toned for a man who spent 12 years stuck in Azkaban and then another in a musty old house, don't you think? I guess he has to do something to occupy his time.
I know what you mean! The memorial art is depressing!! I was sad enough already after reading OotP...
I do wonder though how the towels are staying up. Well, since it IS the wizarding world, I guess the answer should be obvious.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
